Dog Training Classes & Behaviour Consultations
Kids Class Falkirk Tuesday evenings
Ever wanted to know how to get your dog to 'die' on command, rollover or shut the door? The answer, clicker training. Clicker training is a reward based training method that you can use to capture behaviours that your dog is already doing and turn them into something amazing!Alongside the clicker training we'll also be showing you how to read your dogs' moods and behaviour to find out what they're feeling. If you know what kind of mood your dog is in then it will be easier to know when's he's up for fun, when he wants to train or wants to be left alone. A waggy tail doesn't always mean the same thing. This course of classes lasts 5 weeks and you will have some practice to do between each week. You must be over 8 years old and be able to physically handle your own dog . Your dog needs to be reasonably well behaved and not grumpy with other dogs and children. You also need to remember to bring a responsible adult with you too but don't worry we'll keep them occupied with tea and coffee. For further info and to book your place, please get your parents to contact us.FAQIf this is a Kids class, why do I need to bring an adult with me?Dog legislation requires that in a public place, no one under the age of 16 should be in sole charge of a dog. Even though your parent will be ultimately responsible for your dog, you will be the one doing the training.
Do I need to bring a clicker with me, where I can buy one?We will provide you with a clicker, along with a few other bits and pieces to help you with your training. My dog hasn't been to a training class before, I'm not sure how he'll react. Can he still come?To err on the side of caution because we are dealing with children and other dogs and possibly lots going on at one time, it might be better if he went through our beginners class first before coming to this one. Though in saying that, in the beginners class we do encourage children to come with their parents and join in where and when they can but the majority of the basic training is done by an adult. |
